Pasture Coach
NEW - Pasture Coach Version 5.0
Pasture Coach stores and turns pasture cover records into powerful
information for day to day grazing management decisions.
Farmers said they wanted an easy data entry screen resulting in
simple speedy entry of data, so any member of the farm team can
use Pasture Coach, the results was Pasture Coach.
New features in version 5.0
- Manage multiple farms with a new and improved
file management system.
- Advanced feed wedge predictor - predict
for four intervals ahead and see the feed wedge progress over
time. This could give a weekly view of the feed wedge covering
a month
- How much silage? - use the conservation
tool. This will suggest a maximum area to be shut. Specify your
paddocks and your management scenario, now Pasture Coach will
present the outcome as four consecutive feed wedges with paddocks
shut, cut and returning into the wedge.
- Every report or graph can be turned into
a pdf and sent by email to inform other parties.
- Ever had a curly question while planning
the farms management? Pasture Coach now has a library with helpful
information on feeding levels, supplementary feeding and much
more.
Try Pasture Coach
Enter 4 farm walks before you purchase. As you enter the 4th walk
Pasture Coach will ask for a release code - contact us and we will
provide a release code and send an invoice (price $295 + GST)
Grazing Residual Option
When you enter the pasture covers and the paddock has been grazed
since the last farm walk,
enter the date of grazing and residual,
then Pasture Coach will calculate the grass growth rate. This improves
the accuracy of the grass growth rate information.
Rotation Calculator
This calculator allows the user to determine the best grazing management
plan for the next round. Enter four assumptions and Pasture Coach
completes the solution.
- Decide the best rotation speed
- How much grass can you afford to offer
the cows?
- What is the required pasture growth rate
to hold cover?
Predict a Feed Wedge
Requested by existing users.
At the Feed Wedge graph - select the "Predict Wedge" button
and you can make a forecast of the feed wedge to a maximum one rotation
of the farm. Various management strategies can be tested to help
determine the best plan of attack.
Blocks
Pasture Coach allows Blocks of paddocks. Assign a paddock to a
block, even name the block, then see it at a glance in the Feed
Wedge.
Paddock Growth Report
As you develop your records several reports allow you to track
progress. The Paddock Growth Report by Year is a new option that
helps to identify the good and bad producers - which paddock produces
the most dry matter?

Budgets in place?
Hope you now all have our budgets ready for the coming
season, if not use a rainy day to do this. Breaking it down
makes it easier. For example; do not ask yourself how much
you are going spend on feed, but asking questions like; Am
I going to feed grain, how much do I need, how much per tonne?
How much silage do I need to make?
If you need any help setting up or monitoring a budget please
to not hesitate to call, Evelien is available for one-on-one
tuition, either at your place or via Internet.

need to make a split return. When you GST report coincide
with your financial year, yu will be fine if your financial
year end on March 31 or May 31, but for a June 30 year end
you will need to think about this!
Although budgets are usually made excluding GST, GST does
